The display is fine for most situations, and let’s be honest, you’re not going to be watching any movies on your thermostat anyway. That doesn’t mean the Thermostat E won’t wake when you approach – it will – but only to show the current and target temperatures.Īll these downsides, however, are small ones. The Thermostat also does away with the standard Nest’s so-called Farsight, which basically turns the display on when you enter a room to show the time, current weather, or temperature. That said, it’s not terrible, either – you can still see it pretty well if you have good eyesight, but those that don’t may not be able to see it very well at a distance. The frosted display makes the Thermostat E slightly harder to read in better-lit situations. The Thermostat E’s display comes in at 320 x 320 pixels (against the standard Nest’s 480 x 480). These include lights, windows, gates, the room ventilation control, various switches and audio players as well as scenes defined in the Loxone app.As mentioned, perhaps the biggest design difference between Nests has to do with the frosted, lower resolution display. Once set up, Loxone passes various devices and scenarios to HomeKit. Finally, you have the choice of which devices you want to transfer to the home app and control from there. During the setup process, you can also choose which functions of the created Loxone users HomeKit should be made available to. The setup in the Apple Home app takes place as usual.

#LOXONE THERMOSTAT FULL#
This requires full local access to the Miniserver. Setting up or connecting to HomeKit is very easy. A second-generation Miniserver and Config version 12.2.12.1 or higher are required for HomeKit support with Loxone.
